PROJECT 78

City: Sumy

Project manager: Maksym Skydanenko

Technology readiness level: 6

The TerraVita Recovery project aims to create an innovative technology for producing a new generation of granular organic-mineral fertilizer. The basis is digestate, a by-product of biogas plants, which remains an underestimated resource in traditional approaches. Combining digestate with biochar, zeolite, and ash makes it possible to obtain a product with high agronomic and detoxification properties.

This composite not only enriches the soil with nutrients, but also reduces the toxic load of heavy metals and restores the fertility of degraded land. The project involves the use of an industrial pelletizing plant with a capacity of 1,000 kg/hour, which ensures the production of more than 4,200 tons of finished products per year. The technology includes drying, grinding, granulation, and quality control in an automated mode.

The project combines environmental friendliness, functionality, and economic benefits, complying with the principles of the circular economy, green chemistry, and the European Green Deal.
